I have been a licensed psychotherapist for over 25 years and am experienced working with children and adults. I earned an MS in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, graduated from the Dallas Art Therapy Institute’s rigorous post master’s program and have thousands of continuing education hours in adult and children’s therapy.

As a Registered Play Therapist also trained in Sand Tray and Art Therapy, I bring many tools to the therapy office. My theoretical constructs include Adlerian, Jungian, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Person Centered, Solution Focused and Mindfulness-Based.

I have worked with children in a residential facility, in-patient, and in private practice.

Most recently, I practiced at Kid Talk Counseling, owned by Robi Heath, an incredible children's therapist and valued friend.

As a Psychological Associate at the Veterans’ Medical Center, I conducted individual and group therapy in hospital, administered psychological tests and conducted published research. 

 

I have presented on Utilizing Art and Play Therapy with Attachment Disordered Children as well as on Mindfulness for Stress Management to the California Social Workers annual convention.  I have presented on Play Therapy Techniques to Harmony Schools' counselors, at Kid Talk Counseling, and in Rome, Italy at a Conference in 2022 on Autism and Social Skills Therapy. Also, I authored published articles on modern life, psychology and wellness in local  magazines.

For many years, I volunteered with hospice patients and worked in Memory Care facilities using art, play, and animal assisted therapies. My favorite things to do are to spend time with my family, travel the world, and play Mah Jongg (the original gin rummy-type) and other games with friends.
